Plagiarism Policy

Policy of screening for plagiarism

Plagiarism: It is the unacknowledged use of another person’s work as one’s own work. Plagiarism involves copying of phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or longer extracts from published or unpublished work including from internet without acknowledgement of the source.

The similarity checks for plagiarism shall exclude the following:

i. All quoted work reproduced with all necessary permission and/or attribution.
ii. All references, bibliography, table of content, preface and acknowledgements.
iii. All generic terms, laws, standard symbols and standards equations.

Similarity include abstract, introduction, hypothesis, observations, result, analysis and summary.

If overall (zero percent in abstract and summary) similarity index is up to 10% then the manuscript can be accepted for the review process.
If the similarity index lies in between 10% to 40% then the author should be asked to withdraw the manuscript.
